This policy explains what personal data ThemeDetective.com (the "Service") processes, why, and what rights you have. We aim to collect as little data as possible.

1. What we process

  • Website addresses you check. The address, the detection result and the time of the check are stored and may appear in public lists (unless the site is protected, not recognised or removed).
  • A pseudonymised technical identifier. To count checks and prevent abuse we store a one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself in readable form.
  • Messages you send us. If you use the Contact form, the removal form or ask to be notified when a site is recognised, we process the name and email address and the content you provide, only to answer or carry out your request.

2. Legal basis

Our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service, and your consent or request where you send us a message or subscribe to a notification.

3. Cookies

The Service uses only the technical cookies needed for its operation (for example security tokens and language choice). We do not use advertising cookies.

4. Service providers

To provide the Service we may use third-party providers, for example web-scraping, page-speed measurement and image services, and hosting and email providers. They receive only the data required for their task (typically the public address being analysed).

5. Retention

We keep check results as long as they are useful for the Service. Messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request. Notification subscriptions end when you unsubscribe or the notification has been sent.

6. Your rights

You may ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction or objection to its processing, and you may withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Hungary: the National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, NAIH). Contact us through the Contact page.

7. Website owners

The websites shown are publicly accessible. If you own a website and do not want it listed, use the "Remove my website" form.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the current version is always on this page.
